Operation Cornbread in the Final Stretch
Your donation keeps the cornbread comin'!

Operation Cornbread is in its final month. Here's how you can help!

Donate to Sisters. All  contributions until July 31st will be matched 2:1 by our Operation Cornbread Matching Grant. 539 donors have already given during this campaign!

Become a Sustaining Member!  Our goal is to add 30 new sustaining members to our program this summer - so far, 12 lovely people have joined!

Hold a yard sale for Sisters. Donate the proceeds from your garage sale, birthday party, concert, and more to Sisters and those funds are also matched 2 to 1! Supporting Sisters couldn't be easier - and we'll even supply the eyecatching signs for your sale!

Please contribute today, and thank you!

Monica's US Social Forum Report-Back

TwoBears (a Sisters Of The Road Board Member) and I went to Detroit to the US Social Forum (USSF) last week to represent Sisters, WRAP, The Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign (PPEHRC) and to work with the Poverty Working Group at the Forum. Learning together

Building Community at Sisters

Most of us who are involved with Sisters have had a similar experience - mention your connection to Sisters and the response is almost always "I love that place!" What is it about Sisters that's so special?

Coffee Talks Every Thursday
Our commitment to the philosophies of nonviolence and gentle personalism are an important part of the "special-ness" of Sisters. Our community now has the opportunity to and learn more about "Sisters' Way" during weekly Coffee Talks.

All are invited to join us every Thursday from 8:30 - 9:30am in the Cafe for coffee, a pastry, and dialogue and train in our philosophies. Please join us!

Sisters’ Health Workgroup
Cross-class community organizing for real change is also key to why Sisters is so unique.

Health care reform is on the minds of many. In Oregon, this is a pivotal time in health care reform. Sisters has many ways for folks to get involved and make lasting, positive change in our health care system. Click here to find out how to get involved!

Join us for these community-building events and stayed tuned for even more opportunities to be part of Sisters.

Support for Sisters

This spring and summer, our community has raised funds for Sisters through garage sales, Pedalpalooza events, fashion shows, concerts, and more. This is a great way to support our work - and remember, through July 31st, these proceeds will be matched 2 to 1 as part of Operation Cornbread! Contact Heather for questions, information, or lovely yard sale signs.

And coming up this fall, Sisters will be holding an online auction. We're very excited and we'd love you to be a part of it! To donate an auction item or for questions, contact Erinne.

DONATE NOW
Summer is typically a time of low giving. We are asking our committed partners to support our community at this time.

Make a donation today to support Operation Cornbread. Thank you!
You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.
