Keep the Cornbread Comin'!

Sisters Image

Summer is a time when people are are on vacation and with family and may feel too busy to donate.  But even though Portland is warm and beautiful, the women, men and children who rely on us are just as hungry as they are the rest of the year.  In fact, in the summer we always see more children like Jasmine, right, because they are out of school and programs and in use of a good hot meal, safety and community.  They need you.

New Match This Year -Amaizen’!
Our goal is to raise $20,000 that will be matched two-to-one in June and July by Operation Cornbread Matching Grants! Wow, every dollar you donate will become three! The money we raise will support the 400-450 meals we serve a day throughout the summer months.

We have so many fun, NEW ways to get involved: SistersFlix movie parties, Corn Crop Circles, Sponsor-an-Item . . .click here to learn more. Another way is to become a Shuckin’ Husker and ask friends, families and coworkers if they would consider donating $30 - that buys a lot at Sisters!  For instance:

  • Iced Tea: Two Months
  • Hard Boiled Eggs: 2 Weeks
  • Coffee: 1 ½ Weeks
  • Corn Bread: 1 Week
  • Rice and Beans: 1 Week
  • Fresh Salsa: 1 Week
  • Cereal: 1 Week
