5 Year Plan Visions and Goals

Below are Sisters’ 5 Year Planning (2008-2013) Vision and Goals. Each of our programs base their yearly Plans of Work around these Goals. The visions and goals were decided through consensus by Sisters’ staff, Board, interns, and several Civic Action Group members.

Vision 1

Sisters will lead locally, regionally, & nationally to change society and institutions to improve the lives of the people in our community.

Goal 1
Sisters will be an active, effective member of human rights and social justice movements by building lasting relationships with individuals and organizations at local, regional and national levels.

Goal 2
We will mobilize strong cross-class support and organizing tools to influence policy and share power.

Vision 2

Sisters will continue to honor our roots through consistently living and modeling our values, mission and philosophies of nonviolence, gentle personalism and systemic change.

Goal 1
Nonviolence will be infused into all programs and we will provide tools and training for those within the Sisters Community.

Goal 2
Through welcoming diverse people and families at all levels of the organization, Sisters will be accountable for fostering and maintaining a safe environment that’s reflective of our wide community.

Goal 3
Sisters Of The Road will open its resources to other community groups by training them in nonviolence, gentle-personalism and systemic change.

Goal 4
Sisters will be a safe public place for everyone, especially women and children.

Vision 3

Sisters provides sufficient resources to achieve holistic organizational sustainability and operate in an environment of abundance.

Goal 1
Sisters has all the infrastructure we need to support existing and new programs, projects and staff.

Goal 2
Sisters provides workloads, benefits and wages that promote the well-being, personal growth and retention of employees.

Goal 3
Sisters will create a hospitable environment for customers and staff by expanding its cafe and work space.

Goal 4
Sisters will sustain financial abundance that allows it to grow and provide a robust operating reserve.

Goal 5
Sisters will operate in an environmentally sustainable manner that consistently promotes and maintains the health and well-being of the community, staff and the planet.
