What’s your story? / What do you do when you’re not volunteering with Sisters Of The Road? I found Sisters of the Road early in 2004 when I rode the bus to work every day. A coworker suggested we have lunch there one day, but no one was interested. I decided to do some research myself. Upon looking at the website, I decided to attend a volunteer training and check it out more. I started doing AM kitchen prep work and got to know some of the customers and kitchen staff. Over time I kept getting more and more involved cause I felt so great each time I entered the cafe walls. Eventually I got to drop off “PhotoVoice” with Monica. She talked with me about Social Work and Sisters’ philosophies of nonviolence and gentle personalism. Monica also explained Sisters’ mission to ultimately “find the root cause of homelessness and poverty and end it forever.” It wasn’t long before I got involved with the planning of the Hoedown and a number of other fun Sisters events. My “day job” is as an interviewer/research assistant at Providence Health & Services’ Center for Outcomes Research & Excellence. Fun Facts About You: Your 3 Descriptive Words for Sisters:
