Anti-Oppressions Steering Committee
What is the Anti-Oppressions Steering Committee? The Anti-Oppressions Steering Committee (or AOSC) is charged with supporting Sisters’ work to create a truly just, inclusive, and equitable community. Committee members are cross-organizational: they work in the Cafe, in Development, and at the Administrative level. Committee members meet monthly to plan and coordinate all-staff trainings on oppressions such as ableism, racism, classism, sexism, and so on. The AOSC also supports Sisters’ work to create policies and practices which address and transform oppressions within our organization. We are excited to continue deepening out commitment to social justice through the formation of this committee.
