Exploring the Legacy of Genny Nelson and Sisters of the Road
Sisters of the Road was founded in 1979, and on November 7, 2025 we celebrated our 46th birthday! In the spirit of Sisters the best way to celebrate was to feed our community, providing a space at Ground Score where partners and community members could come together and share in good memories and look forward to a bright future.
But to look forward, we have to know where we've come from. As a new team, we knew there is a storied history that we have a responsibility to steward. To help us understand more about who has gone before us we visited the Oregon Historical Society to view the collection of our co-founder Genny Nelson. Pictured here, you'll find just a taste of our history and a few images of our present.
